A Prophetic Proverb The land covered the earth and there were fires upon it until the sea rose up against the land. And the sea hated the land because it was quiet. The sea extinguished many of the fires until the fires that remained extinguished themselves. And the sea overtook the land until it was an island. The men came up from the sea in the light of the sun but the sea raged against the men to overtake them. And the sea hid the quiet land from the sun and from the men. The men overcame the fury of the sea so they were given a little book that held the fire. And the sea coveted the little book and the fire. The sea took up the little book and the fire but could not hold them both at once. And the men that held them both at once were given the name of the wind. The sea rose up to extinguish the name but it fueled the fire that shone brighter and brighter against the sea. And the wind protected the fire. The sea raged like a whirlwind against the fire, the men, the land, and itself until the fire shone bright as the sun. And the sun rose up to tame the mighty sea. The sun overcame the raging sea in the day of fire so the land saw that the fire was good, and rose to meet it. And upon the land the men built the great house that kept the fire. The wind from the great house blew upon the land and the sea and they gave their books, and the little book, to the sun. And the sun kept the sea And the house of the sun brought forth many fires And they burned on the land in quietness for many years.
